Systems Engineer (Junior and Senior)

About You:

You’re a creative and resourceful Systems Design Engineer with remarkable conceptual and analytical skills. You have a strong systems design background combined with the ability to deliver on both high-level architectural and low-level technical objectives. In this role, you’ll work with our team to model complex systems, solve challenging problems, meet ambitious deadlines, and build incredible products. What You Need:

  • Junior:
  • Fill a junior systems engineer role on the product team.  You will either be a high performance new grad or have <2 years of industry experience.  Demonstrable experience is required in the following areas:
    • Maintaining a bird’s eye view of the entire project from a technical perspective to ensure that subsystems function well together
    • Working hands-on with hardware and test systems
    • Modeling complex systems to spec tolerance budgets, test requirements etc
    • Diving deep into low level implementation issues with any team as they arise
    • Strong communication skills in order to get agreement between Product, Design, and Manufacturing; Program or technical project management is a plus
    • Relevant bachelors, masters, or PhD experience, or <2 years relevant industry experience
  • Senior:
  • Fill a senior systems engineer role on the product team. You will have 8+ years of designing complex systems.  A high level of experience is required in the following areas:
    • Decomposing top-level product requirements into component requirements, test and manufacturing requirements, and ensuring the validation plan completely addresses the product
    • Maintaining a bird’s eye view of the entire project from a technical perspective to ensure that subsystems function well together
    • Participating in high level architecting and planning discussions
    • Diving deep into low level implementation issues with any team as they arise
    • Strong communication skills in order to get agreement between product, design, and manufacturing; program or technical project management is a plus
    • 8+ years of systems design experience

What You Will Do:

  • Junior:
    • Fully understand the system architecture
    • Understand the manufacturing processes for each of the subsystems and their associated KPI’s and tests
    • Demonstrate a design framework that will model the display for current and next-gen product technology
    • Incorporate process and environmental effects on key components
    • Identify and begin addressing gaps in data or component level models with component design teams
    • Complete the implementation of the system model and train users
    • Identify additional modelling gaps and implement architecture investigation tools
    • Develop and implement process for collection and review of manufacturing data in the design team
  • Senior:
    • Fully understand the system architecture 
    • Understand the manufacturing processes for each of the subsystems and their associated KPI’s and tests
    • Release a compliance matrix template covering quantitative system requirements
    • Release test requirement documents for each manufacturing station in order to guarantee product requirements are achieved
    • Transfer ownership of process control and product quality to manufacturing, release a design best-practices and design release checklist

  • A combination of opto-mechanical , electrical engineering and display expertise
  • C, Python expertise
  • Statistical analysis expertise
