Audio Systems Engineer

About You:

You’re an audio design engineer with strong analog skills and years of experience developing technically challenging products. You're a hands-on designer and are the kind of person who has all the answers to life's toughest audio and analog engineering problems. You’ve previously held senior roles developing successful consumer technologies and now you’re ready for the next challenge. As an audio systems engineer at Thalmic, you will focus on creating audio and analog solutions for our products while delivering manufacturable designs to agreed specifications within time and budget constraints. If you're often referred to as “the expert”  in terms of the “go to” person for answers, and are a natural team player who wants to change the future of wearable tech, this may be the job for you!

What You Will Do:

  • Audio and analog design in low power wearable designs including implementation, optimization, and test of analog solutions
  • Audio analysis and tuning to enhance user product experience
  • Work with other teams, such as mechanical, to ensure the acoustic design meets audio performance expectations
  • Create and perform audio lab tests including generation of applicable test procedures
  • Generate related schematics and provide layout support
  • Rapid prototype critical subsystems to mitigate design risk
  • Component selection and liaising with various component suppliers
  • Create specifications, test procedures, verification reports and test fixture design

What You Need:

  • 5+ years experience designing audio and analog electronics
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in audio design with focused detail on design for manufacturing
  • Keen sense of details pertaining to low power designs
  • Working knowledge of any required audio related industry standards
  • Experience mitigating EMC/EMI
  • Strong simulation and analysis background
  • Proficient in related test equipment setup, utilization, and data analysis

Bonus Points For:

  • Audio design with baseband processors and dsp exposure
  • Knowledgeable about flex PCB design
  • Cadence/Orcad schematic capture and layout tool experience
