Hardware Engineering Test Specialist

About You:

You’re an engineering specialist with proven experience testing technically challenging products in an R&D or product environment. You take a hands on approach and are keen to set up streamlined tests that can be automated for repeatability. You’ve previously held similar roles successfully verifying consumer based electronic designs and now you’re ready for the next big challenge.  If you're often referred to as “an expert”  when it comes to implementing solid test solutions, and are a natural team player who wants to change the future of wearable tech, this may be the job for you!

What You Will Do:

  • Manage and implement test solutions in the lab for various product sub-systems
  • Review test requirements, collaborate with designers to ensure full test coverage, and modify hardware test plans and procedures as required
  • Test fixture design including related schematics and test board layouts
  • Hardware verification automation via script languages such as Python or Tcl within lab environment
  • Perform EMI, ESD, and thermal testing of products
  • Liaison with manufacturing to support product testing

What You Need:

  • 5+ years of hardware verification experience
  • Engineering Technician or Technologist diploma
  • Solid analog and digital design knowledge with exposure to testing BT, sensors, audio, PMICs, charging, battery, and embedded designs in general
  • Functional test development experience using associated test equipment such as scopes, DMM’s, temperature chambers, CBT32, etc.
  • Experience working with vendors and vendor specifications for verification
  • Schematic Capture and PCB layout experience
  • Experience with various interfaces such as USB, SPI, I2C, UART, and MIPI
  • Keen sense of identifying issues and finding the root cause
  • SMT soldering experience
  • Strong simulation and analysis background
  • Proficient in related test equipment setup, utilization, and data analysis

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience mitigating EMC/EMI issues
  • Knowledgeable about flex PCB design and multi-layer HDI PCB’s
  • Cadence/Orcad schematic capture and layout tool experience
  • Programming experience in C/C++
